The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of electronic giants, KAB-FAM Ghana Limited, Mr.Charles Antwi-Boahen, has been adjudged the CEO of the Year at this year’s Ghana CEO Awards. He was adjudged the Best CEO of the Year in the Electronics category.

The Ghana CEO Awards is aimed at rewarding CEOs who have played a defining role in moving their industry forward and have achieved a lot across a wide variety of domains including sustainability, leadership excellence, innovation and others.

The scheme identifies projects and individual achievements that have enabled their businesses to set themselves apart from their competitors and that have produced clear and compelling value and other relevant results.

The ceremony which was held a few days ago, at the plush Kempinski hotel brought together top government officials including the Vice President, Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia and other industry stakeholders to celebrate the drivers of Ghana’s economy.

Expressing his appreciation, Mr. Charles Antwi-Boahen said, “As an entrepreneur, it is always a good feeling when your efforts, which are primarily aimed at expanding the frontiers of your business to create more value and employment, are recognised from afar by others.”

He added that such recognition encourages them to do more, “so I would like to say a big thank you to the organisers of the Ghana CEO Awards, which is one of the most prestigious award schemes in Ghana, for this honour and to dedicate this award to our cherished customers who make our company who we are.”

Addressing the gathering at the event, Vice President Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia said while underscoring the indispensable role of the private sector in promoting sustainable development and achieving the SDGs, he also acknowledged the critical role of the public sector, in providing an enabling environment for the private sector in areas of macroeconomic stability, unique national identification and address systems, financial inclusion through mobile money interoperability, domestic revenue mobilisation, and credit systems through credit scoring and so on.

“This is what we in government are very much engaged in; providing this enabling environment for the private sector, largely using the digital tools available,” he added. Through the visionary and creative marketing leadership of Mr. Antwi-Boahen, KAB-FAM Ghana Limited has expanded massively, with its branch strength rising at an exponential rate with over (16 branches) across the country and current market share is equally on the rise.

It is his vision that in the years ahead, the company will attain at least 35 per cent of the market share and expand to all parts of the country. KABFAM Ghana Limited currently employs over 150 people directly, and about 500 indirectly, contributing immensely to the country’s economy through job creation, payment of taxes and numerous CSR initiatives.

KAB-FAM through its resolute Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives has reached out and supported communities, individuals, NGOs, and public institutions such as The Police, Ghana Armed Forces, MMDAs, and hospitals including the Korle bu Teaching Hospital among others.
