President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed Ghana’s long-standing commitment to freedom, dignity and international cooperation, describing these values as the foundation of the nation’s identity.
Speaking at the World Governments Summit 2026 in Dubai, President Mahama said Ghana’s foreign policy tradition is rooted in unity and partnership rather than isolation.

“Our nation was founded on enduring principles of freedom, dignity, and international cooperation,” he told global leaders gathered at the summit.

He traced this vision to Ghana’s Pan-African heritage, noting that from the ideals of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to Ghana’s modern diplomatic engagements, the country has consistently promoted dialogue and bridge-building.
President Mahama stressed that as the global order evolves, Ghana remains committed to alliances that prioritise shared responsibility and collective progress over geopolitical rivalry.
