Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) remain largely dissatisfied with the country’s direction, even as overall national optimism continues to grow, according to the latest National Tracking Poll by Global InfoAnalytics.
The survey shows that while 66 percent of Ghanaians believe the country is headed in the right direction, 61 percent of NPP supporters feel Ghana is moving in the wrong direction.
Only 27 percent of NPP voters share the broader national optimism, highlighting a stark contrast between party supporters and the general electorate.
Optimism is strongest among National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters, with 91 percent saying the country is on the right path. Floating voters also show positive sentiment, as 68 percent believe Ghana is heading in the right direction, indicating growing confidence beyond traditional party lines.
The poll further shows that 67 percent of voters nationwide approve of the president’s performance.
However, approval among NPP supporters remains low at 28 percent, compared to 93 percent approval among NDC supporters and 69 percent among floating voters, underscoring deep partisan differences in perceptions of governance.
Analysts suggest the divergence reflects broader shifts in party affiliation and voter confidence, noting a gradual decline in NPP affiliation alongside a rise in floating voters.
They argue that addressing voter concerns and rebuilding trust will be critical for opposition parties as national sentiment continues to trend upward.
