As part of its corporate social responsibility, Goil Ghana Limited has donated 50 pieces of hospital beds worth GHc 240,000 to the Ghana Mission Clinic located at Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta region.
The clinic which started with just 8 staffs in June 2016, now has about 109 staff but with only 32 hospital beds which were woefully inadequate; hence making them serve patients on seats and benches.
The Medical Director of the hospital, Osofo John Morkli expressed relief after receiving the beds.
He said, “the beds will do a lot for us, because we don’t have adequate beds for our clients. We serve most of them on seats and benches and allow some of them to go back home without attending to them. So these beds are going to be a great help to this facility.”
The Public Relations Manager of Goil Ghana Limited, Mr. Robert Kyre said the donation forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
“This donation forms part of our corporate social responsibility that we extend to communities that are in need. Our donation is also anchored to improve the well-being of citizens especially those in the deprived communities.”
Mr. Mac Thompson Gbeti, the administrator of the clinic appealed to all well-wishers, corporate organizations, NGOs and to come to their aid as they still need support towards the building of more wards, a power generating plant, theatre equipment, establishment of a neonatal intensive care unit, completion of the facility’s OPD and emergency complex.
He further noted that, having all these in place will help to promote and enhance service delivery.
