Hollard Ghana with its subsidiaries Hollard Life Assurance and Hollard Insurance have partnered with Oil Marketing Company Vivo Energy to have sales points at selected Shell and welcome shops across the country.

The initiative which has been approved by the National Insurance Commission christened ‘Hollard-on-the-go’ will provide a one stop shop for insurance with insurance booths that will be manned by Hollard business executives.

Shell shops at Adjiringanor, Airport City, Asokwa, Kasoa Amanfrom, Koforidua Highway, Kwadaso, Legon, Old Amakom, Tema Meridian, University of Ghana, and Western Bypass will be the first to have the insurance booths.

According to the company, customers who visit are guaranteed professional service with a full range of financial services including issuance of insurance policies and materials, receiving of customer premiums, making claims payments and taking customer complaints.

For general insurance products, customers visiting selected Shell Shops can also get travel Insurance, Personal Accident, Home Contents and Motor Insurance. Customers can also sign up for Hollard’s Life insurance products including Adepa Family Plan, Adepa Savings Plan, Adepa Goal Save, and Adepa Wo Fie products

Speaking at the outdooring of the partnership, Patience Akyianu, Group CEO, Hollard Ghana described the move as a significant milestone in her outfit’s journey to becoming Ghana’s favorite insurer.

She said “today, two giants of industry are partnering to make accessibility a standard of service delivery. It is the start of a partnership that will become the yardstick of innovation in the insurance and retail sectors. This is not business as usual, but as Hollard Ghana, partnerships are integral to our purpose and ingrained in how we operate. We are always seeking partnerships that deliver a triple win; a win for our customers, our partners and ourselves; all in a bid to enable more people to create and secure a better future, which is why we exist as an organization.”

She assured that Hollard will abide by Vivo Safety and Health Awareness Guidelines while working in tandem with shop supervisors and shift captains.

Throwing light on the essence of the partnership, she explained “Ghanaians are living busier lives on the go. They face challenges having to look for traditional offices to process their various insurance needs. Some, who are uninsured, may never have considered signing up for policies because it’s just not convenient.”

“Considering that the current penetration of insurance in Ghana is abysmal, just a little over 1% of GDP, there is a need to unwrap insurance from the traditional foil of rigidity. Insurance is an instrument for social good, and an enabler of progress. But what good is it, if it is unknown and inaccessible? By this partnership we’re taking small but ardent steps to change this. Hollard Ghana, as a group, aims to be a catalyst for positive and enduring change by bringing insurance closer to the everyday Ghanaian on the move,” she added.

Managing Director Vivo Energy Ghana Ben Hassan Watara said Shell was happy to leverage its relationship with Hollard Ghana to launch Hollard Insurance service points at selected shell stations in Accra and Kumasi.

He noted “today we are pleased to enter into a partnership with a leading insurance company in Ghana, Hollard insurance Ghana limited. To introduce the first insurance services for our Shell shop channels.”

“This is in line with our objective to continue to meet the dynamic needs of our cherished customers,” he said.

Mr Watara added “we hope that this relationship will open more business opportunities to enable us serve our customers even better. The launch of Hollard insurance service points at Shell service stations will bring insurance solutions to customers at their convenience.
