The House of Faith Ministries in Kumasi have donated assorted items worth Ghc10,000 to inmates of the Kumasi Central Prisons.
The donation by the World Missions Church forms part of activities marking its 30 years of ministry.
The items included 12 bags of rice, 3 big gallons of cooking oil, 2 bags of sugar, a bag of “gari”, tinned tomato packs, 100 packs of sachet water, 3 boxes of Rexiguard, 1 bag of washing powder, 5 boxes of carbolic soap, 2 boxes of washing soap, 25 packs of toilet rolls, 5 packs of sanitary towels, 192 pairs of bathroom sandals and 3 sewing machines.
Deputy General Overseer of House of Faith Ministries, Emmanuel Mensa Darkwah, speaking to Ultimate News, expressed the need for the Christian fraternity to show love to people in prisons.
“I will entreat our fellow churches and organizations to come here every now and then to give some of these donations to the prisoners because they also need our help. We should position ourselves in their state and share with them the little that we have”.
Officer-in-Charge of Gate Search and Statistics, ASP Rosemond Osei Bonsu who received the donation on behalf of the Prisons, was grateful to the church and asked other institutions to emulate.
Other activities to mark the 30th anniversary were World Missions Conference, temple dedication, a health walk and free medical screening at Hwidiem.
