Ghanaian YouTuber and African storyteller, Wode Maya has highlighted the intense demands of live streaming, praising American streamer IShowSpeed for his stamina and dedication.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Thursday, January 29, 2026, Wode Maya explained that unlike traditional YouTube videos, live streaming requires constant engagement with no breaks or editing.
“Being a streamer is different from being a YouTuber,” he said. “When I am doing a YouTube video, when I am tired, I relax. When we are done, that’s when we edit the interesting parts and put it out there.”
Streaming, he noted, offers no such safety net. “But Speed can’t edit,” Wode Maya said.
“He has to entertain you for five good hours.” He added that IShowSpeed’s energy and endurance stood out even among experienced creators. “Speed’s energy is on another level,” he stated.
Recounting moments behind the scenes, Wode Maya admitted the pace was exhausting. “I was with him and I kept asking him, how are you doing all this? It’s insane,” he said. “At some point, I was like, ‘Dude, I can’t take it anymore,’ and he’s like, ‘Calm down.’ Then I’d say, ‘You too, calm down.’”
Despite the challenge, Wode Maya described the experience as rewarding, giving him a deeper appreciation for the discipline and commitment that live streaming demands. “It was a beautiful moment working with him, seeing him do his thing behind the scenes,” he added.
