Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has emphasized the critical role of efficient transport, logistics, and supply chain systems in national economic development, stating that “no economy can thrive” without them.
He made this statement while delivering the keynote address at the launch of the 60th Anniversary celebration of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ghana in Accra.
Reiterating the government’s dedication to the sector, Mr. Debrah assured stakeholders of continued support through favorable policies, infrastructure development, and incentives aimed at creating a thriving environment for logistics and transport operations.
He stressed that this vision cannot be realized in isolation, urging collaboration among the public sector, private industry players, academia, and professional bodies like CILT to drive the sector forward.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Transport, Deputy Minister Dorcas Afo-Toffey also reaffirmed government’s commitment to enhancing the logistics and transport ecosystem through strategic support and investment.

President of CILT Ghana, Ing. Mark Amoamah, highlighted the pivotal role of a robust transport and logistics framework in achieving the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), noting that the sector will be a key enabler of regional integration and economic expansion.
Held under the theme “Celebrating 60 Years of Shaping Supply Chain, Logistics, and Transport Professional Development in Ghana,” the anniversary launch brought together industry professionals, partners, and stakeholders to reflect on the institute’s journey since its establishment in 1965 and to chart the course for the future.
