The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has suspended its intention to embark on an indefinite strike action after “Government has responded to the demands of JUSAG.”
The association had earlier announced that if the government failed to pay their eight months’ outstanding arrears following a 10% adjustment in base pay in 2025, they would declare an indefinite strike from January 19.
Following the statement, the National Labour Commission summoned them for a meeting on Wednesday, January 21.
A day prior to the meeting, JUSAG issued a statement suspending their intended strike pending a plan to implement the agreement.
“Following the announcement by the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) to embark on an indefinite strike from Monday, 19th January 2026, over Government’s delay in the payment of eight (8) months’ salary arrears to staff of the Judicial Service, Government has responded to the demands of JUSAG.

“In view of the above, the planned strike has been suspended pending implementation of the payment plan by the Government,” the statement signed by National President of JUSAG, Samuel Afotey Otu, stated.
He admonished members to attend to their normal duties as they monitor progress of implementation.
