Mr. Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation, alongside Ms. Linda Ocloo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, will be the distinguished guests at the inaugural Independence Armwrestling Championship.
The four-nation event, set for Saturday, March 15, 2025, will be the Ghana Armwrestling Federation’s (GAF) first competition since its impressive performance at the 13th African Games, where it secured 41 medals.
Pullers from Nigeria, Benin, and Togo, along with the Ghanaian contingent, will showcase their strength and skill in a thrilling competition at Centre Point Mall in Accra.
Team Ghana, led by world champion Grace Minta have been in camp over the past few weeks preparing to compete in various weight categories for the ultimate bragging rights.
The championship forms part of the federation’s lineup in celebrating Ghana’s success at the continental games.
However, GAF President, Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, urged Ghanaians to turn out in large numbers to cheer on the national armwrestling team, the Golden Arms, as they strive for another victory.
