Past students of the Kumasi Academy Senior High School (Akunni Global) have donated 1,000 mono desks and 60 bunk beds to their alma mater.

This was in response to a recent request by the school authorities to the association for bunk beds.

Speaking at a short ceremony to hand over the furniture, President of Akunni Global, Harry Boakye indicated that the old students deemed it fulfilling meeting a critical need in a school they were proud to have attended.

“I stand before you all with immense gratitude and a sense of fulfillment as we together present and hand over 1,000 mono desks and 60 3in1 bunk beds,” he stated.

He indicated that they were moved to take the step after school authorities informed them that some of the newly enrolled females in the school did not have beds to sleep on

“As Akunni, we were able to organize and procure 60 beds, which can accommodate 150 ladies,” he explained.

Boakye stated that as they handed over the desks and beds, they were not merely delivering pieces of furniture but providing a foundation for hope, a sail for growth, and a tangible investment for the future.

He extended his deepest appreciation to all those who contributed towards this realization and encouraged the old students to continue working together hand in hand to build their alma mater.

The President added that ‘this noble initiative not only symbolized their commitment to education but underscored the transformative power of collaboration and support for their alma mater’.

The headmaster of the School, Samuel Kwame Gato, expressed his joy and excitement for the timely intervention.

Describing the donation as unprecedented, he stated that the Akunni Global had proven to be critical and relevant stakeholders whose contributions to the school’s development agenda remained indispensable.

On behalf of the Board of Governors of the Institution and the entire Kumaca community, the headmaster expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation to Akunni Global for their donations.
