The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the armed robbery attack at the Kwafokrom GOIL Filling Station near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

The suspects, identified as Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, were arrested following investigations into the robbery incident which occurred on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

A statement issued on Tuesday May 26, 2026 and signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, stated that police are currently pursuing an accomplice identified only as Ashivie, who is believed to have played a role in the robbery.

“The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects, Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, in connection with the Armed Robbery that took place at Kwafokrom near Nsawam on Sunday, May 24, 2026,” the statement said.

Police disclosed that several items believed to have been used in the robbery were retrieved from the suspects and are being kept as exhibits.

The exhibits include: An Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, one electronic shocker, a cutlass and a bulletproof vest.

The police said the suspects shot and injured a security guard and a pump attendant during the robbery after the victims had taken refuge in an office within the filling station.

“They also made away with cash in the sum of Thirteen Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty Ghana Cedis (GH¢13,460.00),” the release added.

Police investigators who visited the scene recovered nineteen spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition.

The injured victims are currently receiving treatment and are said to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the Eastern South Regional Police Command says efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining accomplices and dismantle their network.

The Command has also assured residents and business operators in the area of enhanced security measures.

“Residents are entreated to remain calm as police in collaboration with the Filling Station Managers have put up robust security measures to prevent further occurrence,” DSP David Fianko-Okyere stated.
