President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Alamein, Egypt, to attend the 8th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Summit and participate in the maiden Alamein Africa Forum, which is running parallel to the heads of state summit.
The Alamein Africa Forum opens on Saturday with an address by the President of Egypt and a keynote by Nigerian businessman, Aliko Dangote.
President Mahama will later deliver the keynote at a plenary session on “Investing in Health: Manufacturing and Regional Value Chains”. He will examine health as a strategic economic sector and investable market, and not just a social expenditure.
The heads of state gathering for the 8th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Summit will be on Sunday, with President Mahama expected to hold key bilateral meetings on the sidelines, including a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
The gatherings aim to advance African economic integration and sustainable development while creating a platform for governments, businesses, and financial institutions to explore investment opportunities and strengthen partnerships.
