The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has announced the temporary suspension of all of its staff due to unresolved employment-related issues.
This decision outlined in a memo from the CEO to the HR Officer, takes effect immediately after the close of work on February 21, 2025.
According to the memo, the suspension is necessary due to the “complexity and legal implications” surrounding employment matters, which have made it impossible to use operational funds to pay staff allowances.
“Management has been instructed to adhere strictly to due process in regularizing staff employment matters to prevent further legal complications,” the statement read.
As a result, all staff have been instructed not to report to work starting Monday, February 24, 2025, until the issues are fully resolved. The memo further states that “once the matters are adequately addressed, management may call upon specific staff whose services will be required to resume work.”
Additionally, employees in possession of any NEIP property have been directed to return them to the HR Office by the close of work on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Failure to do so, “will be considered as deliberate stealing of such item(s)” the memo warns.
The NEIP management has urged staff for their cooperation and understanding as they work to resolve the situation.
