From today, Thursday, November 13, 2025, Ghanaians can apply for an ordinary 32-page passport at the reduced fee of GH₵350, down from the previous GH₵500.
According to the Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the fee reduction follows President John Dramani Mahama’s directive to make passports more accessible, and Parliament has amended the Fees and Charges Act to provide legal backing for the adjustment.

The new fee includes courier delivery, eliminating extra charges, while processing times have been shortened to 15 working days for regular applications. Applicants can also opt for the 1-Day Express service at a different fee for faster delivery.
Additionally, Mr. Ablakwa noted that Ghana has fully transitioned to modern chip-embedded passports, replacing the older biometric versions to meet international security standards.
