The Mother of All Nations Foundation (MoANF) has called for an urgent, community-led reset of Ghana’s education system following the release of the 2025 WASSCE results, which showed that more than half of final-year senior high school students performed below expected standards.
Data from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) pointed to troubling failure rates in core subjects, particularly Mathematics and Social Studies, raising concerns about students’ readiness for tertiary education and the wider impact on national development.
MoANF said the results reflect deep-rooted systemic challenges, including overstretched teachers, inadequate infrastructure, weak accountability and limited community involvement, especially in underserved areas.
The foundation is calling for a coordinated national response driven by collaboration among parents, teachers, traditional leaders, civil society and policymakers, alongside the adoption of a long-term, community-responsive education strategy beyond political cycles.
In response, MoANF announced the expansion of grassroots education interventions in parts of Greater Accra, in partnership with CDD-Ghana under the “I Am Aware” initiative, aimed at strengthening community monitoring and supporting schools to develop context-specific improvement plans.
