Greater Accra Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adam Sabo Abdul Rahaman, has firmly stated that the party did not authorise any of its members to take part in the recent election rerun.
Speaking on The Verdict with Isaac Addae on Starr 103.5 FM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Abdul Rahaman clarified that no official directive was issued from the party’s leadership permitting participation.
“The New Patriotic Party did not sanction anyone to go to the voting grounds,” he said. “All that had happened; if they had obeyed, this wouldn’t have happened. It is very nasty and it is going to be a stain on us whether we like it or not. It is going to be a part of history.”
Despite condemning the unauthorised actions, he used the opportunity to call for calm and forgiveness among party members.

“I will use this medium to plead to my brothers in the Patriotic Party: nobody should harbour any ill feeling in his heart. We should only see this as a blessing and a lesson so that as we move on, we embrace one another for the country.”
Abdul Rahaman’s remarks add to ongoing internal conversations within the NPP about unity, accountability, and discipline – issues that continue to shape public discourse around Ghana’s political landscape.
