There is excitement in Lower Manya Krobo, particularly Oborpah and surrounding communities as contractor who was working on the community Day Senior High School project returns to site after it was abandoned eight years ago by the previous government.
The project, one of 200 Community Day Senior High Schools initiated by the John Mahama-led administration in 2013, was left abandoned after the government change in 2017. Of the 200 projects, only 46 were completed by the end of President Mahama’s tenure.
The Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo and Deputy Minister of Interior, Ebenezer Okletey Terlarbi commended President Mahama for fulfilling his promise to ensure the project resumes
“The contractor for the Oborpah E-block has come back to site and work is currently underway. Thank you His Excellency President John Mahama”

In 2021 , Members of the Minority on the Education Committee lamented visited the uncompleted E-block sites in Oborpah, Sekesua and Apesua to identify that only the Apesua Project in Yilo Krobo has been completed and operationalised.
Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, Ranking Member on the Education Committee of Parliament, said “We are going to take this up. It is clear that the projects have been abandoned. We will not tolerate such waste of funds. I do not want to believe that they do not have the money,” he said.
During the recent election campaign, President Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to completing all abandoned community Day SHS projects as part of the broader intervention to end the double track system and increase accessibility to Secondary school Education.
