Founder and CEO of Glitz Africa, Claudia Kwarteng Lumor, has explained that her decision to seek political office stems from years of reflection, affirmation, and what she describes as a personal calling to serve.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Thursday, January 22, 2026, Lumor said the idea of entering frontline politics was reinforced over time by consistent encouragement from people across different spheres of her life.
“What pushed me to say that the time was right for me to serve the people is that I felt the calling had been there every year,” she said. “People kept talking to me about this.”
Lumor revealed that much of the affirmation came from the residents of the Oforikrom constituency, who she said have been encouraging her to step up and represent them in Parliament, as well as from spiritual leaders, mentors, and young people who believed she had more to offer in public service.
“Sometimes people see things in us that we do not even see ourselves,” she noted, adding that the recurring encouragement convinced her the moment to act had arrived.
Describing her decision as a “full circle moment,” Lumor reflected on how her personal and professional journey had prepared her for higher leadership.
“For me, there is a reason why God takes us through the journey that we go through,” she said. “If God has taken me through all of this, and I’ve built this much maturity, strength and clarity, then I can serve my country.”
She emphasized that her motivation extends beyond advocating for women, stressing a broader commitment to serve the entire constituency.
“I want to represent not just women, but people, the great people of Oforikrom,” Lumor said, adding that answering the call to serve was both a responsibility and an opportunity she felt compelled to embrace.
