The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has apprehended a suspect in connection with a fatal robbery that claimed the life of a miner at Asonkore SSNIT Flats Down, a suburb of Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.
The suspect, identified as Rahman Adams, also known as Wale, was arrested on January 18, 2026, at Pomposo during an intelligence-led operation, the Ghana Police Service confirmed.
The arrest is linked to a residential robbery that occurred on December 12, 2025. Armed assailants broke into a house at Asonkore by cutting through a burglar-proof window, during which they robbed the occupants of GH¢2,600, a laptop, and a vehicle ignition key.

The incident tragically resulted in the death of a 42-year-old miner, who was assaulted during the attack.
Preliminary investigations are ongoing as the police continue to gather evidence and identify other individuals who may have been involved in the crime.
