Abu Kassim, head coach of Police Ladies, has been named Women’s Coach of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, held at the Grand Arena in Accra.
Kassim earned the prestigious honour after leading Police Ladies to their first-ever Ghana Women’s Premier League title, ending the long-standing dominance of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
His side enjoyed a stellar campaign, completing an unbeaten run in the Southern Zone and finishing top with 39 points. They went on to seal the championship with an emphatic 2–0 victory over Ampem Darkoa in the final.

Under his leadership, Police Ladies emerged as the most consistent team of the season—scoring the most goals and conceding the fewest in their zone.

Coach Kassim beat stiff competition from Joyce Boatey Agyei, who made headlines with the Black Damsels in their debut season, and Mercy Tagoe, who guided Oaks FC to a top-four finish.
