The Ghana Education Service (GES) has extended the deadline for the 2025 Senior High School (SHS) selection process for Junior High School (JHS) candidates to Wednesday, 25th June 2025.
The extension, communicated in a circular dated 13th June 2025, is aimed at providing candidates and their guardians with additional time to make informed decisions regarding school placements.
According to the GES, the decision follows the inclusion of private Senior High Schools in this year’s placement system, which expands the range of options available to students. The Service assured that all existing procedures and guidelines remain unchanged.

Candidates have been advised to consult with their teachers and parents before finalising their selections.
To support the updated process, GES has also released a supplementary list featuring newly added private SHSs to help students make well-considered choices
