President John Dramani Mahama has departed Accra for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the 39th African Union (AU) Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
During the summit, President Mahama is expected to lead a number of engagements for the Union, including discussions on reparations, gender and financial inclusion.
He will also co-host several high-level side events and hold bilateral meetings with fellow African leaders and heads of multilateral organisations. The President is further scheduled to take part in an Italy-Africa Forum.
As part of his activities, President Mahama will host a breakfast meeting on Saturday on the Accra Reset initiative, dubbed “Addis Reckoning.”
Meanwhile, First Lady Lordina Dramani Mahama will also be in Addis Ababa to attend the summit of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).
President Mahama and the First Lady are expected to return to Accra on Monday, February 16.
