
Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has pledged government commitment to implement the outcomes of the National Education Forum, urging stakeholders that the forum will not be business as usual.
During the forum’s closing ceremony, she emphasized the critical importance of foundational learning, stating that a strong focus on basic education is essential for the nation’s progress.
“I wish to assure you that your recommendations will not gather dust on the shelf”.
“Your report will be the foundation upon which our educational policies would be shaped and implemented to build an inclusive, equitable, and transformative education system for Ghana and for the benefit of all Ghanaians”.
The closing ceremony of the National Education Forum, brought together over 30 stakeholder groups to validate recommendations of the committee.

At the event, Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu reassured tertiary institutions that the government will uphold their autonomy.
He emphasized that universities will have the freedom to govern themselves without governmental interference, fostering an environment of academic independence and excellence.
The Minister also disclosed the National Research fund will be operationalised this year to help lecturers in their research.
The committee in charged of the National Education forum are expected to present detailed report and recommendations to the President for directives and implementation.
