A new nationwide tracking poll by Global InfoAnalytics shows a growing number of Ghanaians believe their living standards have improved over the past year, with many optimistic about further gains in 2026.
The survey, released Monday, December 29, indicates that 56 percent of respondents feel their standard of living is better than it was a year ago, while 27 percent reported no change, 12 percent said it had worsened, and 5 percent expressed no opinion.
Looking ahead, public confidence remains high, with 70 percent of respondents expecting further improvements in 2026. Meanwhile, 18 percent were pessimistic about the future, and 12 percent described their outlook as neutral.
The poll also assessed public reaction to the 2026 national budget presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson. Nearly two-thirds (66 percent) of respondents said they were satisfied with the budget, 18 percent expressed dissatisfaction, and 16 percent were neutral.
On governance, the survey suggests improving perceptions among Ghanaians. More than half (56 percent) believe corruption levels have improved, while 60 percent said the government is taking adequate steps to combat corruption.
Regarding illegal small-scale mining, popularly known as galamsey, 47 percent of respondents said the situation has not worsened under the current administration. Among residents in mining-affected areas, 43 percent shared the same view.
Global InfoAnalytics noted that the results reflect rising public approval of recent economic policies, governance reforms, and anti-corruption initiatives, strengthening confidence in Ghana’s overall direction.
The poll is part of the organisation’s ongoing tracking series monitoring public perceptions of economic and political developments across the country.
