Ghanaian media personality Sally Frimpong Mann, popularly known as Sally Mann, has rejected claims that she deliberately attacks people in the entertainment industry, insisting that her outspoken nature is rooted in truth-telling rather than personal vendettas.
Speaking in an interview on Starr Showbiz with Feeling Daddy, Sally Mann said she has often been labelled controversial simply because she says things others are afraid to say publicly. According to her, honesty is frequently misunderstood as disrespect in Ghana’s entertainment space.
“I am not controversial. I speak the truth that people are not able to say,” she stated, adding that many people get offended when uncomfortable truths are aired.

Sally Mann, who revealed she has been married for 12 years with two children, traced her journey in journalism back to her early years, saying she always knew she wanted to be a journalist. She disclosed that she trained professionally at the African University College of Communications (AUCC) and began her media career as a print journalist, working with the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times.
She explained that transitioning into radio and television was never part of her original plan, but circumstances pushed her into the space when the late Dr. Kofi Abayifaa invited her to join an entertainment show, believing her bluntness was what the industry needed at the time.
Addressing criticisms that her comments sometimes damage artists’ brands, Sally Mann maintained that expressing the truth should not be mistaken for an attack. “When I say what is already in the public domain, they say it’s an attack. I don’t see it that way. I see it as telling the truth,” she said.

She also touched on her strong faith, revealing she is a Jehovah’s Witness and credits her boldness and confidence to her belief in God. According to her, she is fulfilled in life and does not rely on public approval or industry validation.
Sally Mann further clarified that she does not take money to defend or criticize artists, stressing that her opinions are guided by personal principles, not financial gain. She added that while she has artists she respects and supports, she does not hesitate to call them out when they misbehave.
Despite frequent backlash on social media, the media personality said she remains unbothered, explaining that her priority is her family, faith and personal peace, not trends or public applause.
