Of everything poetry and spoken word, the second edition of Accra’s biggest Poetry and Spoken word event dubbed ‘Spit Bars and Poetry’, will feature some of Ghana’s biggest names in the arts.

Tesano Baptist Church will be home to the event in Accra, on Sunday September 2, this year, from 4: 00pm to 7: 00pm.

Spit Bars and Poetry is one of Ghana’s biggest concerts popular for assembling an array of the country’s crème de la crème in poetry and spoken word along with other creative arts displays including Stage Play, Comedy, Drum Cover, Live band Music and Dance to mesmerize patrons.

The line-up for the second edition will be featuring A-list artists who have graced events organized by the Presidency including Ghana’s Nana Asaase, Rhymes Sonny, Sabukie, Cobby D’poet, Stella, Solo Hitz, G Gabla, whoisdeyzi, Abotreh, Asford Psalms, Charles Boat, Psalmone and Mckingtorch The Poet.

Organizers of this year’s event have adopted PressForProgress – the campaign theme for 2018 International Women’s Day (IWD), aimed at accentuating issues affecting the Girl Child and women via poetry and spoken word.

Performers will couch works and take on major social and cultural issues such as Child Rape, Ending Early Childhood Marriage and Violence Against Women.

Manager and Press Agent at Crabbita Media Consult, Nathaniel Crabbe, on Thursday July12, 2018 disclosed the names of artists and again called for a Headline sponsor to spearhead the event.

“Our flagship programs is undoubtedly Ghana’s biggest platform for poets, spoken word and other non-music creative arts performances. We featured over twenty acclaimed and young talents last year”, he stated in a press release.

He added that patrons of the scheduled September event will be treated to free eye examinations from Godly Favoured Eye Care Centre, free drinks and finger foods by the sponsored venue.

#SpitBarsNPoetry is supported by Tesano Baptist Church, Bello Couture GH, Godly Favoured Eye Care, Wofa-Tee Designs, Pheb Collections, Soul Impact Family Productions, The Liddell Fashion Trend, Toe Tailor, Ntama Trends with media support from Legacybase.com, EnewsGhana, Dottedigh.com, Donor’s Blog and Bra Banie and powered by Crabbita Media Consult and Poetry GH.
