A five member panel of the Supreme Court has unanimously dismissed an application from lawyers of former Director General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, to have the trips judge prohibited on allegations of bias.
The panel chaired by Justice Lovelace Johnson ruled that the lacks merit and does not meet the requirements for the Court to exercise discretion in his favour.
Adu-Boahene and his wife Angela Adjei-Boateng are standing trial for allegedly stealing GHc59.1M meant for Cybersecurity Defence software. They have pleaded not guilty and are standing trial.
In the course of the trial, the accused persons through their lawyers have accused the trial judge Justice John Nyante Nyadu of bias and wanted him removed, but their request has been turned down.
The panel which also include Richard ADJEI-Frimpong, Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei and Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo said their full reasons would be ready on November.
