Students from Bormaa and Serwaa Kesse Girls’ Senior High Schools in the Tano North Constituency, together with their teachers, have paid a courtesy visit to the former Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Hajia Samira Bawumia, at her office in Cantonments.

The visit formed part of an educational excursion to the capital, which also included tours of key national landmarks such as Parliament House and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

The initiative was made possible by the Member of Parliament for Tano North, Hon. Dr Gideon Boako, with support from fellow Members of Parliament from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Hon. Boako was joined by Hon. Obiri Yeboah, MP for Subin, and Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, MP for Ahafo Ano South West. Both MPs praised the decision to include a visit to the former Second Lady, describing it as thoughtful and inspiring.

At her office, Mrs Samira Bawumia warmly received the students and treated them to lunch, followed by an interactive session. In her address, she encouraged the students to remain committed to their academic pursuits and to aim for excellence in all they do.

She offered a special word of motivation to the girls, urging them to stay focused and believe in their potential. With a touch of humour, she also addressed the boys, advising them, amid laughter and applause, not to distract the girls from their studies.

The visit left a lasting impression on the students, many of whom described the experience as both motivational and memorable.
