Fibre Infrastructure Company, U-ton Engineering Limited has received its ISO certification.

The presentation was done during a ceremony held in Accra on Friday.

The company successfully received three of the ISO standards certification including; ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001: 2015 and ISO45001: 2018.

The certification covers areas including Quality Management systems, Environmental Management Systems, Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.

Country Manager for U-ton Engineering, Mr Afugu who spoke to journalists on the sidelines of a cocktail party to celebrate the milestone said the feat was a very huge and remarkable one for the company.

According to him, “As a business operating in the technology space, this certification means a lot to us as it solidifies our capacity to not just satisfy the needs of our clients but also ensure the safety of workers.”

He added, “We have overtime put in several measures in place to ensure that our employees work under the best Environmental, Health and Safety standards”.

He further went on to note that the certification does not signify the end of ensuring that the right thing is done but rather the beginning.

Mr Afugu said, “I know that it is easy for companies to relax after achieving such feat but ISO is an internationally credible firm which would ensure the right thing is done. As a company also we are committed to ensure that we get all hands on deck to ensure that we live up to expectation in these areas”.

Mr Afugu went on to appreciate the efforts of all stakeholders including employees and clients who for him “are the owners of the achievement”.

“I believe that without our Stakeholders we wouldn’t be where we are today,” he said.

U-ton Engineering Limited is a Ghanaian based engineering consortium and a fibre optics industry pioneer.

U-ton Engineering has about five years experience operating in the African telecommunications space and has engaged in an array of engineering activities mainly in Optical Fiber Networks; Micro-Ducts and Mini-Cables (MDMC) Supply and Installation, OPS and ISP Maintenance.
