The wife of the Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency and a philanthropist Hajia Rahamatu Adama Rashid has donated a borehole worth GHC16,000 to improve access to potable water in the Zuma Charia community of the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.
At a brief ceremony to hand over the borehole to the community, the Wa Central Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress NDC Suleman Mohammed popularly Known as Chairman Fuel said that the people of Zuma-Charia made an appeal to the wife of the Wa Central MP for a borehole during her visit to the community to enable them have access to potable water.
The Chairman added that the borehole is expected to serve over one thousand (1,000) residents in the area.
Suleman Balika who is an Opinion Leader of the community thanked her for the support by donating a borehole for residents of the community to have access to potable water.
He gave the assurance that the borehole will be maintained and put into good use.
