The Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Frank Annoh-Dompreh says he stands by his words that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters can “join hands and beat any National Democratic Congress (NDC) member who fights them.
This comes on the back of Frank Annoh-Dompreh during an engagement with National Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, he urged them to stand by their party members and fight back if any NDC supporter engages in a confrontation with them.
During a visit by the minority caucus leadership to the party’s parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North, Akua Afriyie, Annoh-Dompreh called on NPP members to unite and support their own in the face of conflict with the NDC.
“If you’re a member of the NPP and you see a fellow party member fighting with someone from the NDC, stand by your party member and support them,” he urged the crowd.
However, speaking on a yet-to-be-aired interview on Starr Chat with Bola Ray, the Nsawam-Adoagyiri lawmaker stated he has no regret for making those comments.
“I am not withdrawing the statement I stand by that. I am ready to face the music whatever it takes”
“I will be happy to meet the National Security Service and I will tell them what is happening, probably they are not aware of what is happening in this country. What is happening in Ashanti Gold, Ghana Revenue Authority GRA, people taking hostage of state institution because their party is in power”, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh stated.
He also explained that people are being attacked merely because they are political opponents.
“I don’t subscribe to violence to violence. I have met my party people I was encouraging them to be strong. They are beating them here and there, they are burning party paraphernalia, they are burning electoral materials, they are beating our people. We should just be quiet?
“We will defend ourselves and if we had not defended ourselves I would not have been alive by now”, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh narrated.
