Security analyst Dr. Adam Bonaa has called on Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the former Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), to resign from the Ghana Police Service and explore a career in active politics.
Speaking during an interview on Starr Today with host Efia Tutuwaa Danso, Dr. Bonaa highlighted what he described as her “incompetence” in public service, suggesting that politics might offer her a better platform to excel.
“It’s a decision she would have to make,” Dr. Bonaa remarked. “She’s not 60 years old yet, so there’s still time for her to pursue other interests. If I were her, I would quietly resign and go into active politics. Perhaps in politics, she might shine. But if you ask me, I think her tenure in public service has exposed her as someone not fit to head any public institution.”
Dr. Bonaa referenced the controversial “A-Plus tape” as evidence of what he claimed were lapses in Tiwaa Addo-Danquah’s performance. “The A-Plus tape says it all. If you listen to it, it tells you what she said and reflects on her leadership,” he stated.
He further suggested that her allegiance to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) was apparent and could influence her decision to transition into politics. “Oh, obviously the NPP,” Dr. Bonaa noted when asked about which political party she might align with.
Despite his critique, Dr. Bonaa acknowledged that politics is not without its own challenges, adding, “There are also failed politicians, anyway. But it’s worth a try if she believes she can excel there.”
