“What Bawumia Couldn’t Do, Ato Forson Has Done” – NYA CEO, Osman Ayariga

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Osman Ayariga has credited Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson with achieving economic stability, a task he believes former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his economic team failed to accomplish.

This comes after the former Vice President, Dr. Bawumia issued an apology during an address to party faithful in London, United Kingdom where he accepted responsibility for the New Patriotic Party’s poor performance in the 2024 elections.

Speaking on GH Today, Osman Ayariga stated that Bawumia failed to deliver effective economic leadership during his time in office. In contrast, he said Ato Forson has made notable progress in just a few months.

According to him, “Bawumia should be apologizing to us due to his inability to even manage the currency and should be congratulating the likes of Ato Forson.”

He further criticized Bawumia’s role as head of the previous administration’s Economic Management Team, arguing that the group failed to resolve key economic challenges.

“What that seven-member committee headed by Dr. Bawumia couldn’t do, one man, Ato Forson, has done. What Bawumia and his Economic Management Team couldn’t do in years, Ato Forson has done within five, six months,” he emphasized

He questioned the sincerity of Bawumia’s recent apology and called on him to give credit to President John Dramani Mahama.

“Bawumia should be apologizing to Ghanaians and congratulating His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. That is what he should be doing. Then we can now understand the sincerity of his apology,” he said.

He accused Bawumia of attempting to mislead members of his party and the Ghanaian public. In his view, Bawumia’s campaign tactics are dishonest. “If he is still going on this tangent of trying to deceive the NPP members, I think the NPP members are wide awake and they should know that what Bawumia is doing, the theatrics again, is all about dishonesty,” he stressed.

He concluded by calling Bawumia’s recent conduct politically manipulative. “And I’ll repeat again, the theatrics and the dishonesty are all attributes of someone who is trying to be a con artist. If I say he’s been a con artist, he’s been a con artist because he’s trying to deceive the NPP and deceive Ghanaians that he’s a changed man now and for that matter he’s apologized. Bawumia’s apology is a very dishonest apology,” he declared.
