World Vision Ghana has partnered MobileMoney LTD to expand financial access and boost incomes in rural communities, where more than 7.3 million people—nearly one in four Ghanaians—still live in multidimensional poverty.
Although agriculture contributes about 21 per cent of Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), many farmers continue to struggle with climate shocks, poor soil conditions, limited market access, and low access to finance.
About 3.6 million people face food insecurity, largely in rural areas, with women—who make up nearly 40 per cent of the agricultural workforce—among the most affected.

To address these challenges, World Vision Ghana has launched the Everyone THRIVE Ghana programme, targeting 160,000 households across 13 districts by 2027.
The initiative aims to double incomes for at least 400,000 people within three years through financial inclusion, enterprise development, digital tools, and behavioural change.
In a statement dated Wednesday, January 21, 2026, World Vision said, “the impact extends beyond income; it builds resilience, strengthens communities, and opens pathways for children to thrive.”
As part of the partnership, MobileMoney LTD is supporting the initiative by providing free merchant accounts for savings groups, waiving SIM activation fees, training communities in digital financial services, and recruiting mobile money agents in underserved areas.
World Vision Ghana said the collaboration is helping families transition from subsistence farming to sustainable livelihoods by linking savings groups to digital financial services and broader markets.
The initiative is expected to improve household incomes, strengthen food security, and build long-term resilience in rural communities.

Beyond income growth, the programme also seeks to improve food security, education, and health outcomes, particularly for children. By supporting families to build stable livelihoods, the initiative contributes to long-term community development and reduces reliance on external aid.
As Ghana moves to modernise agriculture and expand digital finance, the partnership is expected to serve as a model for leveraging technology and collaboration to reduce poverty and improve lives nationwide.
