President-elect John Dramani Mahama has pledged his full cooperation and respect to the outgoing Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government during the transition process and beyond.
Speaking at the inauguration of the National Transition Team at the Accra International Conference Centre, Mahama assured President Akufo-Addo that he could count on his unwavering support throughout the transition period.
Mahama emphasized that Ghana, as the heart of democracy in Africa, must uphold its democratic values regardless of political affiliation.
He said, “Mr President [Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo] you can count on my respect and cooperation during and even after this transition. We must demonstrate to the world that despite the adversity we face, Ghana remains the beacon of democracy of Africa. Now more than destiny requires us as country men and women to close our ranks and stand in solidarity with each other. We must put our country first and the work will be done.”
He concluded by underscoring the importance of prioritising the country above all else, noting that the work ahead will be a noble and honorable endeavor.
