Queen Margrethe II of Denmark has arrived in Ghana on a three-day state visit.
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia welcomed Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and wished her “a pleasant stay” in “our beautiful country” after her arrival in Ghana on Wednesday, November 22.
Queen Margrethe II was accompanied by a business delegation to explore bilateral economic engagements with Ghanaian businesses in the food and agriculture, sustainability, maritime, infrastructure and railway sectors.
Tove Degnbol, Ambassador of Denmark to Ghana revealed earlier that Denmark seeks mutual collaborations with Ghana and the Queen’s visit is expected to cement ties between the two nations.
“The private sector is now developing very fast in Ghana with a lot of new companies coming up. Some of them are struggling, but we do see companies being able to earn money and there is a huge potential for Danish companies in Ghana.
“There is a growing middle class, they are demanding a lot of the products that we are able to produce,” Mr Degnbol added during an interaction with journalists prior to the Queen’s visit.
