Asante Kotoko SC has been drawn against 9 time champions of Congo, Club Athlétique Renaissance Aiglon in the preliminary stage of the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup in a short ceremony held in Cairo today.
Also founded in 1935, the Brazzaville based club qualified to the elite competition by virtue of placing 3rd in their league and will be hosted by the Porcupines at the Baba Yara on the weekend of 9th-11th February, 2018. The second leg is scheduled to come off on the weekend 20th – 21st February, 2018 in Congo.
Reacting to the draw, head of Communications, Obed Acheampong, in an interview with called on the club’s teeming fans to brace themselves up for the campaign ahead as the club also prepares for the huge task ahead now that the opponent is known.
“The journey just started and Kotoko could move far with the combined efforts of all stakeholders of which our supporters are key,” he added
