EIB Network together with the John Agyekum Kufuor Foundation will hold a health walk on Saturday,June 16,2018 as part of activities to raise an endowment fund of Ghc80 million to sustain the foundation’s program.
The walk, according to the foundation’s CEO, Baffour Agyeman-Duah, is expected to start from the Aviation Social Centre at 6am through the following route: From Aviation Social Centre turn right towards El-Wak ; at El-Wak intersection turn towards the 37 hospital ;at 37 hospital intersection turn right onto Liberation Road, pass the Accra Mall towards Legon. We will make a U-turn at the traffic lights at Shiashi and follow the same route back to the Aviation Social Center.
Additionally, the walk will also witness performances from artistes amidst merry making and remarks from some individuals and industry partners.
The John Agyekum Kufuor (JAK) Foundation recently launched a fundraising campaign to raise GH¢80million as seed capital for the establishment of an endowment fund to sustain the foundation’s governance and socio-economic development works.
Funds raised from the campaign will be used to run foundation’s programmes – including the Kufuor Scholars Programme, Kufuor Young Entrepreneurs Network, Annual Lecture Series on Governance and Development, the Kufuor Elections Observers Group, and the Kufuor Prize for Best Community Leadership.
The year-long fundraising campaign on the theme ‘80 for 80’ was launched to coincide with the 80th birthday of former president John Agyekum Kufour, who shares the vision of peaceful, well-governed and economically sustainable societies across Africa.
The Foundation is an independent and nonprofit institution dedicated to the promotion and sustainability of Ghana and Africa’s development. It is inspired by the founder’s passion for practical and sustainable development and aims at advancing effective leadership, good governance and socioeconomic development.
In furtherance of its objectives, JAKF seeks collaboration and strategic partnerships with public and private institutions, civil society organizations, as well as international development partners in program initiation and implementation.
