Former England star Paul Gascoigne has arrived at court to face an allegation of sexual assault on a train.
The Spurs legend, 51, is scheduled to appear at Teeside Crown Court this morning after being charged with one count of sexual assault by touching.
Gazza was arrested at Durham train station on August 20 this year.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on December 11 last year.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said earlier: “A man is due to appear in court next month charged in connection with the sexual assault of a woman on board a train from York to Durham.
“Paul Gascoigne, of Amy Street, Leicester, was charged via postal requisition with one count of sexual assault by touching, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
“The charge relates to an incident on board a train on August 20 this year.”
Gazza, who has also played for Lazio, Rangers and Everton, protested his innocence on Twitter, telling fans: “I did f**k all wrong’.
