State Prosecutors have been directed to file their last Witness Statement (WS) in the case in which a 31-year-old man has been charged with uploading sexually explicit videos of a Jehovah’s Witness lady he had lured into a romantic relationship on a pornographic website.
This was after, the High Court in Accra (Criminal Division 5) presided over by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo was informed by Prosecution that they would be filing an additional statement to the ones filed earlier.
Paul Efeturi Niboro alias Paul Kwame Niboro, a Nigerian national is still on remand after pleading not guilty to charges on April 23, 2024.
The accused arraigned on 10 counts comprised of three counts of defrauding by pretense, a count each of Publication of obscene material, forgery, non-consensual sharing of intimate images, receipt of a public officer, and three counts of sexual extortion.
His victim is said to be a 40-year-old African-American lady who resides in Brandywine in the United States of America (USA).
In Court on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Richard Gyembiby, a Principal State Attorney, said “We filed an additional Witness Statement and we just have one more by Friday (June 14) we would have filed it.”
The accused who was present was represented by Huhu Omoro who held brief for Baba Jamal.
EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent, Murtala Inusah reports that the case which was investigated by the Cyber Security Authority, has been adjourned to June 19, 2024.
