A driver has lost his life after his vehicle crashed into the Kadepong River at Akyem Kade in the Eastern Region on Sunday night.
The driver was in charge of a Toyota Passo, with registration number AW-389-21, when the car veered off the road and crashed into the River at about 9:00 pm on Sunday.
All efforts made by a team of Police personnel and NADMO to rescue the victim failed as he was retrieved dead.
Initial investigations identified the driver as Jeremiah Frimpong, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Family members have since been informed of the incident, and the deceased’s body has been transported to the morgue.
A week ago, five people also drowned when a vehicle they were traveling in veered off at a section of the Dabaa-Akropong road and plunged into the Owabi River in the Ashanti regon.
The deceased include the driver of the private Opel saloon car, her two daughters and two other passengers; a plumber and a female teacher of the Akropong Roman Catholic Basic School
