Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is expected to announce Ghana’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Madagascar this Friday, March 14, 2025.
The team will begin their training camp on Monday, March 17, 2025, ahead of these crucial fixtures.
Ghana is scheduled to host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, Following this, the Black Stars will travel to Morocco to face Madagascar at the Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima on Monday, March 24.
The team aims to recover from their recent setbacks and strengthen their campaign for a fifth World Cup appearance.
After facing criticism for their underwhelming performances in the AFCON qualifiers, the Black Stars are eager to turn things around as they push for a fifth World Cup appearance, set to take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico next year.
As a result, Otto Addo will however be expected to announce a strong squad for the upcoming games.
Sources close to EIB Sports indicate that Thomas Partey, who was sidelined due to injury and missed the 2023 AFCON qualifiers in September and November 2024, is set to make his return to the squad.
Additionally, Antoine Semenyo and Alexander Djiku, who missed the final AFCON qualifier against Niger, will also be making their return for the World Cup qualifiers.
Nations FC defender Razak Simpson is likely to keep his place in the squad following his standout performances against Angola and Niger in November.
Meanwhile, the likes of Alidu Seidu, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Abdul Mumin, Joseph Paintsil and Daniel Kofi Kyere, among other players, are expected to miss the games due to various degrees of injuries.
Ghana, who sit 2nd in Group I, will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, at 7pm. The team will then travel to Morocco to play against Madagascar on March 24.
