The Uniterra International Seminar, a global international event, has launched the “2018 Uniterra International Seminar” (IS) in Accra.
The event is focused on creating supportive platforms to equip young women in the area of entrepreneurship by stimulating growth and facilitating access to the benefits of growing and diversified markets.
The event which is under the theme, ‘Women in Entrepreneurship’ will bring together twelve Ghanaian and eight Canadian entrepreneurs, and will be held from October 14-27.
The event will take place in Ghana for the fourth time in its seventy years of history, focusing on providing a cross-cultural learning experience for female entrepreneurs, including various elements of entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the event, Country Director of Uniterra, Madam Clara Nyarkoah Anim said: “Women are often marginalised as entrepreneurs, globally, so I think it is an excellent opportunity to shine some light on some amazing female entrepreneurs”.
“We aim to work on empowering women economically, and we see a great value in providing a platform for discussions and best practices. It is also a strategically designed program, geared towards assisting women in understanding the importance of collaborative efforts in entrepreneurship,” she added.
The event will draw representation from the ministries of Gender, Children and Social Protection as well as Business Development and the Canadian High Commission to Ghana.
