The Ghana Export and Import Bank (Eximbank) has announced a 10 million dollar investment support for Apparel Manufacturers in Ghana as part of efforts on the side of the bank to support government’s quest to transform the economy through industrialization.

Speaking at a ceremony in Accra to officially outdoor the Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers, Chief Executive officer of Eximbank, Lawrence Agyinsam said the bank has identified great business potential in the Apparel Manufacturing sector hence the motivation to earmark such an amount to support the Sector.

The Minister for Trade and Industry who was the special Guest of honour at the formal inauguration of AGAM reiterated government’s commitment to industrialize the country. He added that of the 10 point Industrial Transformation Agenda of government, Apparel Manufacturing is guaranteed a constant support from the Akufo-Addo administration to ensure growth in the sector.

AGAM is an association of apparel manufacturing factories based in Ghana West-Africa with an objective of leading Ghana and West-Africa as a whole as a hub for apparel manufacturing, and as well strategically leverage on all the allied benefits to society as a whole.

AGAM is a formidable association of apparel manufacturers and exporters with an objective of promoting the growth and welfare of its members, our staff, and clients deploring global best practices and innovations in the global apparel industry.

Their vision is to make Ghana a hub for the manufacturers of apparel within Africa through the deployment of modern technology and best practices.

Amongst several objectives of the Association, they are committed to National Economic Development through massive job creation and Industrial internships.

Composition of the Association

AGAM comprises of 13 Apparel Manufacturers. The members are Bulluk Ghana Apparels, KAD Manufacturing, House of Damaris, Sleek  Garments, Anowah Afrique. The rest are Dignity DTRT, Yvonnex, Manise Designs, Global Garments Ltd, Oakbrook, Maagrace Garments, Unijay Ltd and Precious Textiles.
