Since the announcement of the construction of a dam at Pwalugu to deal with the Bagre Dam spillage, majority of the public have welcomed the initiative.
It is in this vein, that Eric Amoako Twum, a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team has stated that the Pwalugu dam project coming up should serve as a catalyst for a multi-sectoral grand marshal plan for the Northern parts of Ghana.
According to him, government should focus on large-scale irrigation for agriculture agro-processing, technology, youth training for employment and poverty eradication.
He said this on the newspaper review and analysis program, Citi TV in Accra.
“This is a very good initiative and we should look at it and explore other avenues such as agriculture and agro-processing, technology, youth training to boost employment and tackle poverty.”
In a nutshell, he posited that all agencies, ministries and other stakeholders should plug in and build their strategies to create synergy.
He was optimistic that Pwalugu Dam will go a long way to impact positively on the lives of the people.
