Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has joined calls for the dismissal of the Upper West regional coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) following the expired food gaffe involving Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Vice President and NADMO have come under massive public backlash after he distributed food items including expired ones to flood victims in Wa in the Upper West region last weekend.
The donation came after weeks of intense media reports of a seeming government neglect of the victims, scores of whom, had been displaced by the flood as a result of the spillage of the Bagre Dam.
Executives of the opposition NDC in the region who first made the revelation of the expired food have called for sanctions for the NADMO officials who superintended the donation.
Although NADMO has taken blame for the incident there are increasing calls for heads to roll.
In a tweet, Gabby, who holds influence in government, said some jobs must be “expired” too just as the expired goods which were distributed to the victims.
When you serve flood victims expired goods, your job also deserves to expire. You don’t treat victims and the Veep this way.

Also, the resigned CEO of the Coastal Development Authority Samuel Atta Mensah has also called for action in the embarrassing episode.
