Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited (GTBank) and Visa have rewarded winners of the ‘Akyedie’ Promo which was launched in November to reward card holders who used their Visa cards to make payments for transactions online and on POS.
In a brief ceremony at the Head Office of GTBank, fifteen (15) winners were presented with their rewards including 49-inch televisions, Mini audio speakers with Bluetooth and Wireless woofers.
Divisional Head of Digital Banking and Partnerships, Leopold Armah, commenting on the awards said “for us as a Bank, the focus is not just service delivery, but ultimately security of digital transactions. We are expecting a lot of better things to happen within the digital space next year and as usual, GTBank will serve customers with the utmost in digital banking.”
Country Manager of Visa Inc., Ms. Adoma Peprah said the reward initiative was part of Visa’s campaign. “Visa always looks for ways of rewarding our cherished cardholders for using their cards. This is our way of encouraging them to join in the country’s cash-lite agenda and make transactions in a more secure manner. We thank you and assure you that there will be more reward initiatives in 2020.”
She further advised card users to put in measures to ensure their cards are secure during this festive season. “during peak seasons like this, it is important to safeguard your card against unauthorized persons. Do not share your PIN with anyone; look out for unauthorized transactions and immediately alert GTBank of any suspicious activity taking place on your card. I hope we all enjoy a seamless payment Christmas.”
The GTBank Visa Akyedie promo was part of a wider campaign spearheaded by GTBank to reinforce the use of cards and electronic channels in a cash-heavy economy.
