The Tabital Pulaaku International Ghana chapter in collaboration with Danbaki Royal Family, council of Fulani chiefs and elders in the country have engaged the regional security authorities of the Bono East and Savannah regions in its bid to wipe out security threats against Ghanaian Fulani and issues that emanates from within the Fulani Communities
The team of prominent Fulani Chiefs, Leaders and prominent individuals embarked on a marathon of meetings which took them first to Buipe in the Savannah Region on March 10 and to Kintampo in the Bono East Region a day after.
A range of strategies were developed to address causes of the insecurity and to provide lasting solutions through dialogue between farmers and cattle herders on one hand and the formation of Community Watch groups within Fulani communities to identify those individuals that engage in various criminal activities, which in turn poses a danger not only to innocent citizens but also to all Ghanaian Fulani.
In the Savannah Region, the Fulani delegation led by Yakubu Musah Barry, General Secretary of Tabital Pulaaku International Ghana Chapter were hosted by Superintendent Kwame Nimo, the Damango Regional Crime Officer Superintendent Cletus Abadamlora and Buipe District CID Evelyn Akanzerikiba.
In Kintampo, the team was hosted by Crime Officer DSP Prosper Gbagbo, Kintampo Divisional CID SGT Razak Iddi and Kintampo Divisional Police Lt. Cpl Mustapha Mohammed.
The delegation included Yakubu Musah Barry General Secretary of Tabital Pulaaku International Ghana Chapter and who acted as spokesperson, Chief Osman Fulani Chief of Buipe, Chief Alhaji Bukari Fulani Chief of Yapei, Chief Alhaji Osman Fulani Chief of Damongo, Chief Buraima Sarkin Samari of Fulani in Buipe and Chief Musah Alhoini Sarkin Samari of Fulani in Kintampo.
Alhaji Musa Barry assured the security forces of the willingness on the part of the Fulani Leadership in Ghana, “to contribute our quota towards a long lasting and peaceful co-existence amongst the peoples of our Great Nation, to expand the contributions of the Ghanaian Fulanis to the Gross Domestic product (GDP) through innovative ideas and solutions.”
