The parliamentary candidate-elect of the New Patriotic Party for the Upper Denkyira East Constituency in the Central Region, Dr. Festus Awuah Kwofie, has called on electorate to participate in the Voter Registration Exercise.

Dr. Kwofie, who will be representing the constituency for the first time, is urging the party base, the grassroots and members of the Elephant Family to fully participate in the Electoral Commission’s voter registration exercise, which commences on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. He defeated the incumbent parliamentary candidate Nana Amoakoh Gyampa in the just ended NPP parliamentary primaries.

Dr. Kwofie is urging his constituents and the people of the Upper Denkyira Community to observe all the safety protocols as they go out to register. He again advised them to comply with all the electoral rules and regulations at the registration centres. He admonished them to also campaign and ensure a massive win not alone for him but also for the President. “We need to increase the margins to ensure a 2nd term for NADAA to do more,” he said.

He is of the firm believe that Ghanaians are very much satisfied with the good leadership and developments President Nana Akufo-Addo has brought to better the lives of Ghanaians. It is a testimony of selfless leadership. He reiterated that any attempt to change the political leadership of the country will only mean a truncation of the many social interventions introduced by the president.

He praised the president for the Free SHS programme since it has gone a long way to help the youth in the constituency.

Dr. Kwofie laid emphasis on the planting for foods and jobs, one district one factory, one village one dam, one million dollars per constituency, one ambulance per constituency, the massive road infrastructure and unprecedented social interventions that Ghana never witnessed under the NDC which prides itself as a social democratic party.

He emphasized that the only way of showing appreciation for the good works as demonstrated by the NPP is an overwhelming endorsement in the upcoming December polls. He is appealing to all NPP supporters and sympathizers to get to the ground and convince both the youth and old to register and again vote come December.

Dr. Kwofie also seized the opportunity to promise the good people of Upper Denkyira East that he will use his vast experience in the corporate world and business to bring development to the people of the constituency.

He advised all well-meaning Ghanaians to ignore the ugly and empty noises being heralded by their political opponents and detractors. He encouraged those who have either a passport or the Ghana Card to vouch for their family members and friends who do not have any of the two for one reason or the other.

However, he advised them not to abuse the system by attempting to vouch for more than 10 people. That will amount to crime he pointed out. He also appealed to the locals of his constituency who reside outside of the constituency to come home and register, he said that apart from the registration, the constituency needs the numbers to lobby for development for the constituency.
